Kappa Scores International Brand Boost with Virgin Racing Partnership
Released: 01/07/10 09:00 AM EST

Total Apparel Group, Inc. (“TAG” or the “Company”) (OTC Pink: TLAG), a master distributor and licensee of market-leading international trademarks in the branded apparel, footwear and accessories sectors, announced today that Kappa is making international headlines and gaining significant momentum in advance of TAG's Fall 2010 U.S. and Canadian market push.

Most recently, global icon Sir Richard Branson announced that his Virgin Group (www.virgin.com) is launching a new Formula One racing team, and has selected Kappa as its technical sponsor (click here to view the original press release). Kappa has designed a line of co-branded performance and lifestyle apparel and accessories. This adds yet another significant, highly visible platform that can be utilized when re-introducing the brand to retailers in the U.S. and Canada; as with other Kappa products, TAG will be the exclusive distributor of the Kappa Virgin Racing Line in both countries.

To many Americans more familiar with the marketing might of NASCAR, there is significant and lucrative precedent for sporting apparel/footwear sponsors of open wheel racing (the type run in Formula One and the IndyCar Series). Brands like Puma and Adidas have gained substantial visibility through Formula One team sponsorships, while in the U.S. Izod was just named the IndyCar Series title sponsor.

“Kappa is already a brand synonymous with a hip, cool lifestyle in much of the world,” stated TAG CEO Janon Costley. “We believe that this partnership with Virgin Racing could be a significant catalyst in creating the same consumer popularity here in the U.S. and Canada.”
