First Integrated Solution for WellAWARE Systems Demonstrates Intent for Open Collaboration with Telehealth and Other Healthcare Technology Providers

WellAWARE Systems, the leading developer of next-generation wellness monitoring solutions for senior care providers, today announced it has entered into a technology integration collaboration with American Medical Alert Corp. (NASDAQ:AMAC). AMAC is a leading provider of remote patient monitoring technology and 24/7 healthcare communication services. Together the companies are delivering an integrated health monitoring solution that incorporates AMAC’s personal emergency response system (PERS) technology with WellAWARE’s sensor-based wellness monitoring solution and is currently pilot testing the integrated solution with its first joint customer, The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society (Good Samaritan).

Frederic Siegel, Executive Vice President of AMAC commented, “We are excited to collaborate with WellAWARE to drive innovation and accelerate the adoption of remote patient monitoring technologies that will continue to keep seniors safe and independent at home. WellAWARE has developed break-through sensor monitoring technologies that will enhance our traditional PERS service. The blended solution provides a 24 hour, electronic safety-net for at-risk individuals while keeping caregivers and healthcare providers in close continual contact during potentially life threatening situations.”

Through the integrated offering, Good Samaritan residents will be provided with a system that combines WellAWARE’s passive monitoring sensors and wellness trending detection technology with AMAC’s industry leading PERS system. In an adverse event these combined devices will activate the PERS for two way voice communication with AMAC’s 24 Hour Medical Response Center to obtain immediate assistance and contact medical and personal responders as needed.

The WellAWARE/AMAC integration demonstrates WellAWARE’s ability to offer leading telehealth and senior healthcare technology providers with open integrations. WellAWARE’s resident-centered philosophy is focused on enabling seniors and providers to obtain the healthcare technologies they need while simplifying the access to that data via a single platform.

“Teaming up with AMAC, a leading provider of PERS technology, is an ideal opportunity to demonstrate the ease of integration with the WellAWARE solution,” said Jeff Noce, CEO of WellAWARE Systems. “By continuing to collaborate with complementary telehealth and healthcare technologies, we enable caregivers to proactively identify and address existing or developing health conditions, as well as emergent situations such as disabling falls.”
