The Grisanti family is pleased to announce that Ronnie Grisanti's Italian Restaurant officially reopened their doors on September 28th, 2018. The beloved Memphis establishment will be serving many of their customers' original favorites with a new modern twist. Customers can visit Ronnie Grisanti's new location today in the Regalia Shopping Center.

"The new Ronnie Grisanti's is a labor of love," says Judd Grisanti, Head Chef of the newly-reopened Italian restaurant. "We've been serving the Memphis community for nearly 40 years. After my dad passed away last year, it became my mission to honor him by carrying on our family's legacy. We considered many spaces along the Poplar corridor for this new venture, and we finally settled on the Regalia Shopping Center because my own family has frequented this very space for many years, and it just feels like home to me. It is my hope that the new Ronnie Grisanti's will feel the same for all our customers."

The overarching concept of the new Ronnie Grisanti's mixes old-world charm with modern flair. The elegant and cozy space includes a raw fresh oyster bar, a private dining room which seats up to 18, and a complete bar with an extensive list of predominately Italian wines from the northern, central, and southern regions. With the help of local designer Graham Reese, the space incorporates elements of the old Ronnie Grisanti's such as memorabilia and original menus with contemporary details such as high-back leather dining chairs and modern pendant lighting. Like every Ronnie Grisanti's location, this new one includes featured murals as well. Local artist Bill Turri lent his talents to the space with a hand-painted dining room mural depicting Lucca, the ancestral home of the Grisanti family, as well as a scene of the Mediterranean Sea behind the oyster bar.

Fortunately, the new Ronnie Grisanti's menu of northern Italian cuisine follows suit. Combining original recipes with modern ingredients and techniques in a unique style which Judd has dubbed "Antico-Nuovo," the restaurant uses the latest kitchen equipment like sous-vide machines and a cold smoker to create dishes like Roasted Eggplant Lasagna and Oysters Cartoccio with a horseradish cocktail sorbet.

Grisanti went on to say, "It's amazing to see things finally come full circle. After leaving the original family business to explore my own ventures both inside and outside of the food industry, being back in the kitchen feels more natural today than it ever did. Still, this is about more than just making good Italian food. Reopening Ronnie Grisanti's Italian Restaurant is about serving our community with love, and we could not be more honored and excited for the opportunity to do just that."

About Ronnie Grisanti's Italian Restaurant:

The roots of the Grisanti culinary tradition date to 1505 in Valdottavo, an Italian village near Lucca. Judd Grisanti's great-grandfather, Rinaldo Grisanti, emigrated from northern Italy in 1909 in pursuit of the American Dream. Arriving at Ellis Island with little more than two hundred dollars, Rinaldo made his way to Memphis with something more precious than gold: la cucina Toscana.

In 1979, Judd's father Ronnie started his own restaurant, opening Ronnie Grisanti and Sons on Marshall. Ronnie moved to Beale Street and eventually landed at the location that would draw regulars from across the Mid-South to what was the center of Memphis: Poplar and Humes. For three decades there, the "Captain" maintained the art of fine Italian dining in one of Memphis' busiest and happiest restaurants.

Through the years, each Grisanti chef - Rinaldo, Elfo, Big John, David, Ronnie, Alex and Frank - has brought a singular touch to the family legacy. Now that Judd is privileged to become a guardian of a more than century old culinary tradition, he makes it his mission to create "Antico Nuovo" dishes for his customers' delight in their beautiful dining room. Judd aims to maintain Italian standards of excellence while bringing his signature and more modern contributions to the Grisanti culinary heritage.

The flavors in each of Judd's recipes are blended with the finest ingredients, simplicity, elegance and love. He pledged to protect the Grisanti legacy while continuing to refine his art form. He considers this restaurant his gift to Memphis, the city that allowed his great-grandfather and his family to thrive and raise their children in the greatest place in the world.
