FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Perot Systems Corporation PER announced today that Eugene "Lee" Carrick has been appointed to serve as president of the company's government services unit. Carrick will succeed Jim Ballard, the current president who announced his intention to leave the company to pursue other opportunities. Carrick most recently served as Executive Vice President for National Security at Perot Systems.
Carrick brings with him more than 26 years of experience working in the intelligence, defense and civilian markets. Prior to joining Perot Systems, Carrick directed a $480 million federal IT division at Northrop Grumman. He also led programs related to defense systems acquisition, NASA and military space operations, and intelligence mission support in the U.S. Air Force.
"After a careful selection process, I am pleased to announce Lee Carrick as the new leader of Perot Systems's government services division. Lee brings with him an in-depth understanding of the federal market and proven experience running large business units; I am confident he is the right person for the job," said Peter Altabef, President and CEO of Perot Systems. "I also want to express my deep appreciation for the many contributions Jim Ballard has made to our team during his tenure with the company. Jim has significantly expanded our presence in the government market, and due in part to his efforts, Perot Systems is on a clear path to continued growth and financial success."
"Perot Systems has built its reputation on being the company the federal government can trust and I am honored to lead its government services unit," said Carrick. "Perot Systems is poised for success and I believe my experience in the federal contracting industry coupled with the enormous dedication of our employees will take us to new heights in this market."
Ballard has been with Perot Systems since the acquisition of ADI Technology Corporation in 2002.
"Leading this division has been an incredible honor and I will always be grateful for the tremendous support of our dedicated team," said Ballard. "My decision to move on was a very difficult one, but under Lee's direction, I am confident that Perot Systems will continue to advance its mission in the federal industry."
