The Star Tribune -- and Dailies Generally -- Hears a Who
If Sweeney came concerned, he might have left more worried. Yes, Public Radio’s legacy business is radio, and, more recently, audio, via podcast and streaming. What Sweeney heard, though, was a larger Who, public radio’s nascent attempts to assert itself as a major online (and then presumably mobile) news player throughout the country.

(MPR) Met-Pro missed the consensus estimates by 38.5%
Met-Pro Corp.’s (MPR) second-quarter earnings plunged 56.2% year over year to $1.2 million on sluggish demand in its large project and industrial markets. Earnings per share came in at 8 cents, compared to 18 cents in the year-ago quarter and missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 38.5%, or 5 cents.

Thriving to Diving: 36 Winners Last Year Struggling This Year
I was looking at a portfolio that I manage and was struck by some of the metrics. While the account is up over 20% YTD (it is balanced 60/40 Stocks and Bonds), the current median equity return YTD for the 14 stocks in the account is -11%. Long story short, I have had a lot of turnover this year and have picked up some stocks, especially in the Healthcare sector, that have lagged over the past few months or even quarters. As always, I disclose these holdings on my website. This morning, I decided to look purposefully for stocks that are down this year after having a strong relative year last year.
